Rick Levin was a respected and beloved teacher, mentor, and friend who passed away at the age of seventy after a valiant battle with leukemia. This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Rick Levin by supporting students on the road to higher education. Any senior graduating in 2025 who has had an IEP or a 504 Plan during high school AND who has experienced struggle academically or emotionally is encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility: Male students who attend or plan to attend a local university. San Diego area, high school seniors may apply. Have a Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 3.0 or better. Provide one letter of recommendation from a school staff member at the school of attendance; Provide one letter of recommendation from a person in the community; Provide a one-page personal statement that highlights the applicant’s views on current issues that are important to him/her which outlines their motivation to seek a higher education.
